How to tell what kind of animal is in my wall?

Updated: May 18, 2023

Most animals will make their presence known in distinct ways, even if you have not seen them. Here are a few of the telltale signs of common infestations:

· Squirrels: Squirrels are diurnal, which means they are only active during the day, you may hear some scurrying or skittering noises coming from your attic or walls while you are awake.

· Mice: Mice are nocturnal, meaning they will be active at night, moving around and looking for food. You might even hear them chewing on things like food packaging or wires. Small, rice-shaped droppings are another sign of mice invading your home.

· Rats: Rats are also nocturnal. You may hear them running around in your attic or walls. Compared to mice, though, the droppings will be a bit bigger — usually about half an inch.

· Bats: Bats are nocturnal. It can be hard to tell the difference between mice and bats in your wall, they can even sometimes sound like squirrels. If you hear chirping noises at night rather than squeaking or sometimes a fluttering sound, you may have a bat infestation.

In any of these cases City Woods Wildlife Removal is prepared and equipped to help!
